Everyone needs to invest
Hello
Regarding the proposed changes, I am concerned about the blocks being put on individuals and small investors like myself.
I not regulators should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and you and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged, investment banks, hedge funds and wall street.
I am a regular investor with goals and aspirations. Why can't I invest a percentage of my assets in leveraged funds? Why do you think this a privilege is just for the wealthy? Please do not think you are protecting me. Instead, you are holding regular people like me back from investing in assets that we believe will improve our investment returns.
Please do not make any enhancements to current rules. The outcome will only limit retail investor access - allow the market to act independent.
Please don't regulate how we invest, so we can prosper and maybe help others.
It is not fair that we all should have the same rights to spend our money the way we want when or lose it's our decision
These are products that are used by sophisticated investors who understand the risks and are willing to take them as part of their overall strategy for their reward.
Restricting access or imposing onerous criteria to meet before an investor can trade/invest in them goes against every principle of a free-market economy.
I need to be able to choose the investments that are right for my financial situation.
Some of my investments are hedges to help protect my positions from unexpected losses.
I do not need more regulations to "protect me" as I feel I do my own adequate research and due diligence.
We currently have more than enough regulation of securities by federal and state authorities. Any reasonable person is capable of making their choice of investments. Investment options should be available for all Americans, not just the rich or those deemed appropriate or those qualifying under special approval. Is this not part of the American dream?
I don't need special training or permission to choose which investments are right for me. That's for me to choose as part of my free will.
