Use of leveraged ETFs is a small but important part of my investment strategies. These instruments are used at times for both leveraging and hedging. Additional restrictions around the use of these ETFs are not beneficial to the consumer. As an investor I am well aware of how leveraged ETFs work and the increased risk they bring to my portfolio. Additional restrictions about what investment vehicles the retail investor is allowed to and not allowed to investment are not of benefit.
why should you restrict our right and choice to invest as we wish? are you able to guarantee that we always make a profit and never a loss in our investments? if not, what kind of a crazy idea is this??? we don't live in a communist country or dictatorship for god's sake!!!
I oppose restrictions to my right to invest. Don't protect only big investors & institutions. Stand up for little guy as well as big. We're most of Americans. And VOTERS.
Just leave people alone. Many dont want or need your help. Just leave us alone.
Regulation of these critical investment tools is wrong. Okay to buy long only equity index etfs and leveraged long etfs but not inverse etfs or leveraged inverse etfs ? Come on people why arent individual investors allowed to make money no matter the market direction? I recall the federal government tried to ban short selling financial stocks and indexes during the financial crisis in fall of 2008! But its still okay to buy stocks like Peleton and Paypal and watch those decline 90%? Or buy the QQQ and have it decline 80 pct like in 2000-2003? Or look at IBB (biotechs) Now!
I feel that government overreach has been getting worse and worse. I am a crypto investor. I feel some things that need to happen is making bots illegal for crypto. They are a problem for the industry when every tom dick and harry have a bot program like Pionex as an example. The government should regulate the industry, without screwing those who have been in it. I am for regulation on the condition it is for the benefit of all and not for the benefit of the wealthy.
Comments: do it like a tax cut. Disallow the wealthy, the rich with more than $100,000 in their account to trade in these funds. Pay Peter to pay Paul. Allow the commoner and lower income investors to trade in these funds so that they can make some money. Life is just not fair no matter how you look at it rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
My wife and I have carefully invested in ProShares leveraged funds since 2008 and have profited substantially from our investments. No one has advised either to or not to invest in these funds, it has been our own decision. We hope that you will allow us to keep these investing in these funds for our retirement.
