SEC Leveraged and inverse funds are used in particular situations to hedge or enhance certain positions I may have. Rather than selling some or all of a position and causing taxes, I can use an inverse fund to protect my investments. Today, my broker provides information to ensure I have the needed information about using these funds. Please don't add increased scrutiny or requirements to use these instruments.
I greatly oppose this new Rule. As a New investor the ability to pick securities is a privileges I have residing in the U.S. It is my responsibility to research what I am purchasing. Not FINRA's to tell me what I can and cannot purchase.
The only people that should be regulated is those politicians that make and break the rules and then profit from them!
I object to restrictions allowing me to purchase inverse equities
You shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before you can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. We are perfectly capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. Don't limit our free options.
Investments have many safeguards to prevent individuals from investing in products they don't understand. These range from a formal prospectus all the way to a (highly) informal google search (which will readily enumerate the risks involved in investing in leveraged ETFs. That information is easily accessible to anyone who might choose to invest in these products. As a result, regulating these products further takes choice away from investors who have every opportunity to ensure that they are fully informed.
Please do not take away tools from small, individual investors. There are too many ways the big guys have to beat small investors with their unfair rules. The markets are rigged to their advantage. I NEED to use inverse and leveraged funds to avoid financial disaster in my retirement account.
I should decide my investments it is my financial obligation.
I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before investing in public securities such as leveraged and inverse funds. Having used these funds in the past, I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks.
