Individuals have a right to invest their money where and how they see fit. I do not have an issue with brokers issuing notices and warnings to investors before they invest in risky securities. However many of us have done their due diligence when it comes to research and risk analysis. The role of regulators in this particular case should be to INFORM, not restrict.
It is very important to me that I am able to invest my money how I see fit. I am able to do my own research and believe I should not be restricted because I am not as professional investor.
I didn't go to war for the US Army to have regulators here tell me I am assuming more risk than I am trained to take with MY money.
Please do not restrict access to my investment funds. We investors are made fully aware of the risks associated with different investments, but these different levels of risk are needed for a diverse portfolio.
I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds! I should be able to choose the public investments that are rigth for me and my family!
It is outrageous that you would deny individual investors the opportunity to leverage or hedge their own money the way they want to. Enough of your so-called protection. You are only interested in holding people back.
This action is not based on any evidence of misuse of leveraged ETFs. Arguably, this action would push investors into far riskier investments such as cryptocurrencies, margin trading, short term options, and penny stocks - why draw the line at leveraged ETFs? Utilizing a leveraged ETF tracking DOW30 and S&P500 as a small percentage of my portfolio helps me enhance my returns.
I want you to know that leveraged and inverse funds are an extremely important part of my investment strategy.
These types of funds help me to find above average returns and dividends on my capital and I use them as a supplement to the bulk of my portfolio.
I value my ability to invest in leveraged and inverse funds. I did my research beforehand and decided what to buy. Making these available just increases values to citizens.
